Raised as a girl, celebrated as the women's downhill world champion, Erik(A) Schinegger's career is abruptly ended by a sex check at the 1967 Winter Olympics. Against the vehement opposition of her family and the national skiing association, she decides to undergo surgical gender correction, thus revealing her true identity. After the surgical procedure, Erik begins to learn to be a man at the age of 20.
